Summertime in Chicago is one of the best places to be. There is always something going on whether it’s a street festival, outdoor concert at the Jay Pritzker Pavilion or a movie at the Park at Wrigley. Here are some fun things to do with your pet this summer in the city!
PAWS Chicago Beach Party
On July 20, PAWS is hosting its 15th annual Beach Party at Castaways on North Avenue Beach. This event features dinner, dancing, live music, open bar, auctions, and pet spa services. With the gorgeous views of Lake Michigan and the downtown skyline, this could be a special night for you and your pup! For ticket information, click here.
Pet Psychic Fair
Harmony House for Cats is hosting a Pet Psychic Fair on August 6 from 1-4 pm. You can bring a photo of your pet to assist the psychic, but it is not required. This a poplar event and the reading times always sell out! Homemade appetizers and desserts are available, as well as shopping for pet collectibles and cat toys. Harmony House is located at: 2914 N. Elston and while the event is free, the readings are $20 for 15 minutes.
Paint Your Pet
Have you ever done a BYOB painting class? On August 24, Canine Crews and SIT Social: A Dog Lounge is hosting a BYOB painting class from 6:30 – 10 pm. The class is taught by artist Ian M. Sherwin, but your pet is the star! You will create their portrait with acrylic paint on a wood surface. This event is also a fundraiser for the Chicagoland Rescue Intervention and Support Program (C.R.I.S.P.), which is a new initiative that will collect resources from eight local rescues to work in conjunction with Chicago Animal Care and Control to provide assistance for pet owners in need. The class is being held at Canine Crews at: 1616 N. Washtenaw Ave. For ticket information, click here.
White Sox Dog Day
Every season the Chicago White Sox host Dog Day where your pups are allowed at the ballpark! This year the event takes place on September 6 vs. the Cleveland Indians. Your pup will get pampered with free samples from many Chicagoland retailers while you get to enjoy a fun night of baseball! For more information or to purchase tickets, call the Chicago White Sox at: (312) 674-5244.
