Veteran’s Day is Monday, November 11th and to support the incredible men and women who served our country, Blum Animal Hospital is collecting pet supplies all month long for a very special volunteer-run and non-profit organization: Pets for Vets. According to the Pets for Vets website, “studies have shown that pets can be tremendously helpful in the rehabilitation process of someone suffering from PTSD or depression.” Pets for Vets Chicago matches up eligible veterans with shelter dogs who have been specially trained by qualified dog trainers, and in need of a loving home. When the pet is delivered to the veteran, Pets for Vets Chicago tries to provide everything the new dog owner might need so that the financial burden is lessened as much as possible. Therefore, they are always in need of donations!
