Training for the Marathon- One Paw at a time!

Now that spring has finally sprung here in Chicago, we can usher in the start of running season!  I am excited to announce that I will be running the Chicago Marathon in October as a part of TEAM PAWS.   Members of TEAM PAWS not only commit to running their way through 26.2 miles of Chicago, but also to raising money to support PAWS, the biggest no-kill shelter in the city.  Every year, PAWS saves the lives of over 5,800 animals in need, as well as provides 18,000 low cost/free spay or neuter surgeries in low-income communities.  TEAM PAWS is key to the shelter’s success; one-third of their annual operating expenses come from the fundraising efforts of the team members.Team Paws

Please stay tuned to our Facebook page and newsletters to keep updated on our fundraising efforts, my training, tips for running with your dog,  and special events we will be holding throughout the summer to support PAWS.  You can watch our progress, or make a donation, by visiting my personal page http://paws.convio.net/site/TR/TeamPAWS/TeamPAWS?px=1018381&pg=personal&fr_id=1040.  Thank you so much for helping the BEST animal hospital in Chicago support one of the most acclaimed animal rescue in the country!
