Just because it’s winter, doesn’t mean you can’t have fun with your furry family member! There are tons of things to do in the city with your pet around the city. Here are just some of the options!
The Christkindl Market that is held in downtown Chicago on the Daley Plaza allows dogs in their outdoor market if they are on a leash. The market is open Sunday-Thursday 11 am – 8 pm and Friday-Saturday 11 am – 9 pm, and will run through Christmas Eve. For more information, call (312) 494-2175.
Petsmart – Photo with Santa
Most Petsmarts in the Chicagoland area are having photos with Santa for your furry family member on December 10-11! There is no charge for the photo, and the event runs from 12 pm – 4 pm on both days. The two closest Petsmart locations to Blum Animal Hospital are at: 3736 N. Halsted St. and 3319 N. Home for the Holidays
If you were thinking about adding a new furry family member to your brood, the Anti-Cruelty Society is hosting an adoption event called Home for the Holidays. Any dog or cat that has been at their facility for 60 days or longer will have their adoption fees waived. The event takes place on December 12-13 at both the Anti-Cruelty Society’s main adoption center at: 530 N. LaSalle Ave. and their Petsmart Charities Everyday Adoption Center at 1101 S. Canal St.
Holiday Ugly Sweater Pawty
On Saturday, December 17 from 3:30-5:30 pm, K9 University is hosting the Holiday Ugly Sweater Pawty. All pups and people who come in ugly sweaters will get extra raffle tickets to try and win prizes. Tickets are $10 for early bird tickets (sales end December 10) or $15 per person afterwards. Tickets include a free holiday dog treat from Wiggle Waggles/6 Mutts and a free photo with “Santa Paws.” There is also free access to K9 University’s agility course.
